Landfill
The Shenandoah County landfill is located north of Edinburg along Route 11. The address is 349 Landfill Road, Edinburg, VA 22824. The landfill accepts all types of waste except hazardous waste.
Citizen Convenience Sites
The County operates 12 Citizen Convenience Sites, of which only one receives recyclables (Woodstock). The others accept recyclables and household bagged trash from citizens. All businesses must either take their waste to the landfill or hire a private firm to haul it away for them. Bulky items (furniture, appliances, carpet, tires, etc.) are not permitted at convenience sites. Paints, petroleum products, brushes, and construction debris must also be taken to the landfill.
