Rope Rescue Operations

Shenandoah County Dept. of Fire and Rescue, in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, will be sponsoring Rope Rescuer – level 1, Rope Rescue Operations Course. This 32 hour program includes class and practical training in creating rope anchor systems, simple and compound mechanical advantage systems in high angle, ascending and descending a fixed rope, victim package
and moving, tending a liter in high angle, high angle rescue, rescue team member, and directing rescue operations. This program meets NFPA 1006 Standard for technical rescuer professional qualifications.

Times: Class begins at 08:00
Cost: $25.00 refundable for Shenandoah County affiliated students

Prerequisites: Must be 18 years of age. Must have ITR mod 1 and 2.

Registration: Completed Training Registration Form, registration fee and copies of ITR Mod I and II certificates need to be sent to Shannon at SCFR. We have limited spots.  Register as soon as possible.
