Shenandoah County Dept. of Fire and Rescue, in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, will be sponsoring a Fire Instructor I certification course to orient area fire and
rescue personnel with the fundamentals of fire service instruction. The certification course will cover all current NFPA 1041-12 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications. This course is designed to train participants to organize and deliver basic firefighter programs.

This 42- hour certification program provides the minimum certification requirements for the Training Standards and Qualifications 2019 Standard- for those providers who wish to serve their organization operationally at the General Staff Level.

Prerequisites: Firefighter Level II, Hazardous Materials Operations, ICS 100, 200, 700
