Shenandoah County Dept. of Fire and Rescue, in collaboration with the VA Office of EMS and Infection Control – Emerging Concepts, Inc. will be sponsoring annual update training course on infectious disease control. This course is designed to convey updated information concerning disease statistics, best practices for disease prevention, post exposure management, and determining exposure criteria for a variety of infectious diseases. This training is a component of Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue’s Exposure Control Plan and is REQUIRED to be attended by all EMS providers (career and volunteer) who are affiliated with Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue’s EMS Agency #1162 – as enforced by OSHA.
Continuing education hours under Area 19 ALS / Area 14 BLS will be awarded for those participating.
Those who fail to meet this mandatory training obligation will be removed from Agency 1162’s list of affiliated providers.
