Shenandoah County Building Inspections Department held a training seminar regarding the 2015 code updates that will go into effect on September 4, 2019.  Approximately 100 local Contractors were in attendance.  We have been receiving positive feedback and are looking to provide more training in the future.   Thank you to all who attended and made this such a great success.

During the month of July, the Building Inspections Department received 292 permit applications.  These applications include New Construction, Additions & Renovations, and all trade related work for both Residential and Commercial Projects.   The Building Department is taking in an average of 26 new home permit applications each month since February of this year.  Below are 17 of the 26 that were approved during the Month of July.  With this increase in permits also comes the increase in the required Inspections.   Our Building Inspectors conducted 669 inspections during July and traveled over 5670 miles.  Needless to say, we are busy!
