Shenandoah County is inviting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant within the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. Shenandoah County is seeking an energetic, versatile professional to serve as Administrative Assistant within the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. The Administrative Assistant performs difficult skilled clerical and administrative work performing a variety of complex office assistance and administrative tasks. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.

An individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily including the following:
•Greets the public, answers telephone and e-mails for the department and ascertains nature of business, directs to appropriate personnel.
•Maintains calendar and schedules; makes and cancels appointments.
•Prepares general correspondence including memorandums, reports, letters for attorney review and signature; proofs spelling and grammar.
•Opens, develops, and maintains complex and detailed files and records for court cases; performs data entry with knowledge of the case management program; collects and maintains data relating to case files.
•Checks and reviews a variety of files and data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established standards and procedures.
•Undertakes special projects as assigned by supervisor.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school including or supplemented by computer coursework and intermediate experience with administrative work. The annual pay range for this FLSA non-exempt position is $30,918.00 to $37,261.85, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
