NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors intends to consider whether to adopt, the below-listed items. The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on November 28th, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Meeting Room of the County Government Center, 600 North Main Street, Woodstock, Virginia, during which the Board of Supervisors will receive comments from persons affected respect to the below-listed land use actions.
Special Use Permit (Special Use Permit Number 23-11-01): A Special Use Permit pursuant to Section 165- 14B(3)(r) of the County Code allowing a Short Term Rental on 0.526 acres, more or less, on certain real property zoned R-2 Medium-Density Residential, located at 8 Joyce Ct., Basye, VA 22810 (Tax Map No. 065A301 133). The Short Term Rental will consist of a five bedroom short term rental dwelling and related accessory structures.
Subdivision Text Amendment (Subdivision Text Amendment Number 23-10-01): A Subdivision Ordinance Text Amendment to add new definitions of “Parcel Identification Number”, “Parcel, Primary”, And “Parcel, Sub”. The Amendment will also amend the definition of “Subdivide” to remove subsection (c) relating to an exemption for division for agricultural or forestal purposes. The Amendment will amend Section 142-3.1(A), which places certain limits upon divisions within the A-1 and C-1 zoning districts, to refer to the proposed definition of “primary parcel”. The Amendment will also amend Sections 142-5, 142-6, 142-10, 142-18, 142-20, 142-30.1, 142-32, 142-34, 142-43, 142-44, 142-45, 142-48, 142-49, and 142-52 of the County Code. The amendments provide for the review of, and action upon, subdivision plats by the Subdivision Agent. Previously, subdivision plats other than simplified plats were reviewed by both the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors, and acted upon by the Board. The amendments further provide for changes to subdivision standards including but not limited to requirements relating to trees, bike lanes, benches and bike racks, and street configurations and design. The ordinance contains other related amendments and updates.
Copies of the special use permit application and subdivision text amendment are available for review in the County Administrator’s Office, located at 600 North Main Street, Suite 102, Woodstock, Virginia, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
