Mechanic Technician

Shenandoah County is seeking a hard-working individual to join our team as a Mechanic Technician located at the Shenandoah County Department of Solid Waste. The Maintenance Technician performs intermediate semiskilled and skilled work on a variety of gas and diesel sanitation vehicles and construction equipment. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Equipment Mechanic or the Operations Manager.
This position requires any combination of educations and experience equivalent to high school diploma and experience repairing vehicles, construction equipment and other power-driven equipment. Applicant must possess an appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment, post-offer drug screening and background check.
The starting hourly pay range for this FLSA non-exempt position is $17.91 – $20.60, annualized to $37,261.85 – $42,851.13, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
