ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant. This position is assigned operational responsibilities in a high volume office and will be responsible for answering multiple phone lines as well as assisting customers in person. Duties will include, but not limited to program registration processing in accordance with established guidelines, cash handling, monthly accounting functions, invoice preparation, credit card reconciliation, instructor and referee payments, preparing correspondence, mail processing, filing, and program support. Competitive applicants will have knowledge of the parks and recreation department, demonstrate competence in areas of accounting and record-keeping, and be experienced in Microsoft Word and Excel. Full-time hours are 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Benefits include Virginia Retirement System, health and dental insurance, paid vacation, sick leave and holiday pay. Hiring range is $32,083 – $36,299. Salary based upon skills and experience and within posted hiring range.
